
Talking Book and Braille Service

The Illinois State Library offers a Talking Book and Braille Service for blind, visually impaired, or physically handicapped residents. Services offered include talking books and the machines to play them, Braille materials, and a magazine service. The Berwyn area is serviced out of Geneva , but you would still apply through the Springfield office.
Residents must have a certified authority recommend them for the service, such as a doctor or a professional librarian . Contact the Outreach Coordinator, who can help you submit your application, or apply directly through the Talking Book and Braille Service office in Springfield.
