The Berwyn Public Library would like to thank the Illinois
State Library by allowing us to be a part of the FY 2001 Educate and
Automate Program.

 | With the help of Jesse White, the
Secretary of State, combined with the Illinois State Library, our
Library was given the money to purchase an Aladdin Rainbow Closed Circuit
Television (CCTV). This device gives are library guests with
vision loss the ability to magnify the size of the print so they may view
books, maps, graphics and other materials in the library. This
particular model has the capability of magnifying in color and black and
white from 5X to 50X. It is designed for people with macular
degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, retinitis pigmentosa and
inoperable cataracts. The CCTV will be located on the second floor of
the library which is accessible by stairway or elevator. |

Also new this month, we have received a wheelchair that is available
to the public for In-house use only. If you require this service,
please request it at the Circulation Desk. |
